We've added new yarns for the Spring from Harrisville, Bergere, Kathmandu, Nature Spun, Schaeffer, Louisa Harding, Nori and Gedifra, including hemp, cotsoy, bamboo, cotton, and blends. We've also stocked up on our locally produced yarns from Moonlit Meadows, Mt. Ascutney, Mt. Nickwauket, Snowshoe Alpaca, and Parris Hill Farm! And we have alpaca, Lincoln longwool, Icelandic and Border-Leicester rovings for needle felting and spinning.

Fiber Arts in Vermont plans to hold sheep to shawl demonstrations at the Calvin Coolidge homestead on July 4 and during their Cheese Festival in September. We would love to have all spinners, weavers, and people who like to play with fiber join us. FAVT is offering up to four scholarships of $50 each for individuals taking a class at the Fletcher Farm Arts and Crafts center in Ludlow, Vermont. Individuals must be FAVT members as well as members of the Society of Vermont Artisans and Craftsmen. Recipients of the scholarships must commit to teaching at Six Loose Ladies a class of their choice within one year of receiving the scholarship. Applicants must submit their name, address, telephone number, email address, title of Fletcher Farm class they plan to attend, and a description of the class they plan to teach (including skill level of attendee, materials list, and brief description of what will be taught). Scholarships will be awarded by the end of May, 2008.
